Buying a Apple MacBook

Everyone who has a MacBook raves about them the best laptop you can have' etc, so I thought i'd go down to the local shop that sells them to see for myself. What I first liked about them was the keys, nicely apart from each other and nice to use, the speed of it is great, size just spot on and it have safari on it.

One of the great things about the MacBook is that even though they aren't massive laptops Apple have still managed to put in enough pixels to make the monitor nice and bright. Apples are the perfect portable laptop as they are the perfect size, not like those 12 inch iBooks that you couldn't use because they were too small yes great to put in your bag and carry around but not great when trying to work on them and could hardly see screen so you had to spend your time working with your face so close to the screen you went cross-eyed. It wasn't just the size of them that made you do this but also the resolutions didn't help either. This is very much the opposite for the MacBook, perfect carry size but perfect working size too, plus the right amount of pixel so you can actually see what you are doing without the need to squinting.

Another great thing about the MacBook is that students can get a great discount (granted this is only a great thing if you are a student) some universities like the university of Bristol offer students wanting a MacBook discounts like 770 including VAT for a MacBook 1.8Ghz with 1 GM and 3 years of Apple care. You can also get student discount on the actual apple site too. An example of the great student discount is, AppleCare is a three year extended warranty on your purchase for only 60, that totals to 80 off the store price of 140!!

Features of the MacBook

The Apple MacBook is a great piece of technology that has some really cool and clever features, one that I recently found was the battery power indicator. On your battery you will see there are 5 different green LEDs, when you connect the charger up to the laptop through the mains the amount of charge the laptop has will show up, as well as which bit is currently charging.

One of the great benefits of this is that you can leave you MacBook with the screen down on your desk, bed etc and still be able to tell how much it has been charged without having to keep the screen up this makes it a very handy feature to have.

iChat

Apple's new iChat allows you to share your screen with a friend over the internet or a network connection. This new feature is such a hit as not only does it mean you can share things with relatives, from showing them photo's or even if they need something fixing you are now able to do it for them whilst on yours or show them how to (explaining over the phone is so difficult at times isn't it).

It also means if you have a MacBook and an iMac for example you can move things across to either easily. Another that the iChat should hopefully be able to do is to always aspect particular incoming request automatically, this would allow you to be able to share documents, files, folders, music etc from wherever you are, say if you are at university put the other MacBook is at your home you can still log in to share screens. However Apple might be worried about security and this part of the feature might not happen fingers crossed though hey!

The MagSafe power adapter

The MagSafe power adapter comes with the new Apple Notebooks, the adapter prevents the notebook from getting smashed up if someone walks past and catches the cable and it also works from either end.

The charger has a colour indicator that is built into the connector head, this is like an LED, it goes orange when the MacBook is charging and green if it has already been charged. It's a very clever design and feature of the MacBook and has great user feedback.
