Apple Regent Street press conference tomorrow… predictions!!!1!

Now this is something I don’t think I’ve done before, but is suitably geeky to blog: Apple Event Predictions!

Movies and Beatles in iTunes, UK. I’m told if the Beatles are released on iTunes, they’ve got such an adoring fan base they’ll probably shoot to Number 1 all over again. That’ll certainly be interesting to see. Otherwise, quite boring.

iPhone released in the UK. Okay, that’s not brilliantly specific (which is the fun of predictions, you have to be specific in order for there to be any chance you’re wrong!)

  • iPhone release date: Early October.
  • iPhone disk space: 16GB.
  • iPhone data network: EDGE.
  • iPhone unit price: £300.
  • iPhone monthly contract: 2yrs, from: £35/mo, 500 mins, 500 texts, unlimited data.

Given current market prices, especially the contract rates of O2, I think that would be a reasonable place to start. Obviously a 3G phone with unlimited data access would be nice, but I somewhat O2 are willing to hand out their (until now) precious bandwidth that easily.

I reckon that in order to woo the Europeans, should they not include 3G, Apple will have to up the flash memory in it’s device to 16GB.

What would be really exciting to see is a choice between EDGE and 3G.
