They’ve called it the same thing, and now Jeff Han (who gave an amazing demo of the new Multi-touch technology at TED, available on YouTube) has posted an update to his project page:

Very interesting. I have the distinct feeling there’s a lot more in store from Apple in the way of new bits and bobs which are off peoples’ radars.
