Well done Google - your speedy fix for Google Notifier OS X is much appreciated and I’m happily using it right now.
Flashy new icons and sounds
Well get you, girl! Those icons are snazz-y! I really like them. Comparing the new and old mail icons you can see it’s certainly been spruced up.
There are also two new Google sounds provided with the software, which are pleasant.
My quick take
- The new icons are lovely
- The two separate functions (upcoming calendar events, unread inbox email) work well with each other
- You can’t set how far ahead the calendar notifier will display events
- The mail notifier does not work with Growl
- I’d like to be able to see a longer list from my Inbox when I click on the mail icon (a setting, perhaps?)
Over all, very nice. I’m pleased with this new release and a pat the back goes to the developers… but they have their work cut out for them 
Where are you getting version 1.9.65? When I go to Google to get it, it downloads 1.9.90.
I’ve been using that version for my hosted gmail and loving it, but last week it decided to quit fetching my mail. I reinstalled and everything.
I’ve read about 1.9.65 on several blogs this morning but no one has a link. Help.
