Another one for the portfolio

I’m pleased to announce the launch of a new site I’ve done for a client.

Dragon Garage Equipment Services provides some great services and products to the region, and so I’m really quite proud to have done their site, complete with my trademark ‘Call Me’ feature.

Lovely green design

It’s a really looker, and I’m very happy with it. It’s got reflections and everything.

CMS? WordPress.

Oh I do like a good rhyme. I used my head and moved away form Contribute. Dragon is powered by WordPress.

But why? As much as I like to slate WordPress every now and again, it does tend to come up with the goods:

  1. Free
  2. Easy to use
  3. Online
  4. Pages and categories for easy separation of ‘about us’ type pages and ‘product’ type pages, which makes things simpler for all
  5. Relatively quick to implement (I used the Dech template as a rough starting point), especially if you have your code ready to mesh
  6. It’s got a competent search engine, which is really a website must. You can always use Google, yes, but nothing beats keeping users on the site.

Conclusion

Dragon GES is essentially an excercise in efficient, manageable web design for the small business. It took me three weeks of very part-time hours to get done, and is ready to go immediately. Check it out.
