Spotlight doesn’t index the contents of files

Thanks for lying to me, Apple. You bastards.

Spotlight isn’t so good if it doesn’t look inside the file, as well as outside.

Update: It does now. No worries - just a quick re-index. Thanks [_].

I have Spotlight problems too. I have a G4 powermac running 10.4.9 and 2 hardrives. With previous tiger updates it used to index all day and it would take for ever. Now it’s not finding things which I know that are there but i’m lazy to go get. I thought that was the whole idea. Pinche Apple, you been liar to me!

Do I need to force index the drive?

Found this little blog with Google, because I feel the same way. Spotlight sucks. I use a dashboard widget called Sing That iTune! which basically just finds lyrics for songs that I play and saves them in iTunes. It also saves these lyrics in a folder as simple text files. Spotlight doesn’t search in these text files. I would love if it would, because then I could easily find songs I’m looking for just by entering lyrics in Spotlight.
