So I’m remaking Market West. This time, it has to last. I don’t want to have to come back to it every three months and completely overhaul the design. I do, however, want to be able to make slight changes. It needs to look fresh, and welcoming.
But what of the content?
I need to offer:
- web design
- web design for small businesses
- small projects
- WordPress template design & set up
- AdSense optimisation
- AdWords marketing
- free help for public & non-profit institutions
- friendly, honest, real
As well as talking about me, the way I do business and how to contact me.
The front page will have to link to current projects, and it would be nice if I could have a site-wide message.
Now I’ve nailed what content I want Market West to carry, it’s time to start thinking about design. I myself know what I want to write for each of these, and although I’d always recommend getting content sorted out first, this can be an exception.
I like your inclusion of Wordpress set-up. Many businesses still see websites as a one time static introduction to their operation. They forget that people may not check websites again unless they have a reason to. Some businesses could benefit by having a weblog that keeps customers up to date.
Yeah I’ve been thinking about providing that. I’ve done it enough to be able to shoot them out, and I could happily give tips on how to ‘blog’ for business.
