Flickr Uploadr still doesn’t do it right

It’s a real shame that the primary software application I and many others use to upload their photos onto Flickr still doesn’t have some major features pinned down.

One core feature which I am frankly amazed hasn’t yet been implemented is being able to set the order in which your photos are uploaded to your photostream. I say this because often, I have photos which I think are best and want to be at the top of my pile for a while. It might also be frustrating to people who want to post their photos in the order they were taken, but aren’t able to do so.

Additionally, and this little dig could be because of either Flickr’s servers or AOL’s servers, uploading photos seems to be strangely slow for me. This is quite odd, considering it takes less time to do it over http when I’m attaching something of similar size to an email in Gmail.

Upload speed is something that needs to be lightning fast, otherwise the job is tedious and slow, because it’s possible the lamest part of Flickr. I uploaded 57 photos to a printer’s website the other night, and it seems to me that Flickr is taking waay longer than they should do to accept the images.

And enough with the perpetual beta already!
